Sliding the walls

art

In the IKO Real Estate Headquarters WELL22 project, Spike was tasked with transforming the 3-floor staircase and the twin lift case of 7 floors. The concept of "relief" emerged early on, becoming integral to the project. Spike wanted to play with a relief in a specific material, either wood, raw metal, or Corten. IKO went for the Corten version, which was also Spike’s favorite. The whole artwork throughout the building is kept in black and white with a linear play of yellow lines crossing and cutting the shapes by connecting them. To finish off the project, Corten rusted elements were fixed on the wall with a little distance, so that it looks like those elements are sliding up and down the walls.
